Shanghai, China — Acrel Co., Ltd. today announced the release of the APM5 series network power meter, a next-generation panel-mounted power monitoring device engineered for the era of smart grids and IoT-enabled energy management. At its core, the APM5 series breaks free from traditional wired constraints by offering built-in WiFi, 4G, and LoRa wireless communication options, allowing real-time energy data to flow directly to the cloud — no RS485 cabling, no gateway, no limits.

The APM5 series redefines what a panel meter can do. With selectable WF (WiFi), 4G, and LR (LoRa) wireless modules, installers can deploy meters in remote sites, retrofitted cabinets, or distributed solar & storage facilities where pulling communication cables is impractical or costly. Data is transmitted over Modbus protocol seamlessly to SCADA systems, energy management platforms, or mobile apps, giving facility managers instant visibility into power consumption and power quality from anywhere in the world.
For sites with existing infrastructure, the APM5 also supports RS485 (Modbus-RTU / DL/T 645-2007) and Ethernet (Modbus-TCP via RJ45), ensuring backward compatibility and flexible integration into any automation architecture.

Beyond connectivity, the APM5 delivers laboratory-grade measurement on the panel:
- Class 0.2S accuracy (with S option) for active energy — meeting IEC 62053-22 and GB/T 17215.321 standards
- 0.2% voltage & current accuracy, ±0.02 Hz frequency accuracy per IEC 61557-12
- Full four-quadrant energy, split-phase energy, apparent energy, and multi-rate (TOU) energy metering
- Comprehensive power quality analysis: 2nd–63rd harmonics, interharmonics, voltage flicker, unbalance, voltage/current phase angle, K-factor, crest factor, and vector display
- Fault waveform recording (S option): captures voltage sag/swell/interruption and inrush current events — 20 waveforms with 10 cycles before and after, 128 samples per cycle — enabling rapid root-cause analysis of power disturbances
- Demand & extreme value statistics: real-time and maximum demand with timestamps, plus monthly extremum records for current, voltage, and power
The APM5 is more than a meter — it's a compact monitoring node:
- DI/DO: 2DI+2DO (72 mm) or 4DI+2DO (96 mm) for status monitoring and control
- Analog output: 2-channel 4–20 mA (optional)
- Temperature monitoring: up to 4 NTC channels for cable joint or busbar temperature
- Leakage current measurement: 1-channel (optional) for insulation fault detection
- 128 event records and 128 alarm records with on-board storage

- Display: 128×128 dot-matrix LCD with white LED backlight, Chinese/English bilingual menu
- Power supply: AC 85–265 V / DC 100–350 V wide-range input
- Operating temperature: −25 °C to +70 °C
- Protection: IP54 front panel (IP65 optional)
- EMC: IEC 61000 Level 4 immunity
- Two form factors: 72×72 mm (APM510) and 96×96 mm (APM520) panel cutouts
The APM5 series is ideal for data centers, solar PV & energy storage plants, industrial distribution, commercial buildings, infrastructure, and power quality auditing — anywhere accurate, connected, and wireless-ready energy monitoring is required.
